I’ve been drooling over images from friends’ vacations to Palm Springs for the past few years and finally this weekend I was invited out to the desert oasis for a dear friends birthday celebration. A house was rented and poolside with cocktail and many a wonderful conversations I did stay. With trips into town for tiki drinks and food and fresh faces at hipsters paradise (aka Ace Hotel) it was a memorable weekend that I can now surely say … Palm Springs, you did not disappoint. And now for your viewing pleasure … a few fine photos.
Remember when I used to post on this blog? Oh, yes. Thanks to a certain friend who reminded me last weekend that in fact some do check this site. What better way to start back up the relationship then to share photos. Shot on 35mm film with a lomography Fisheye and a Polaroid disposable. Special thanks to Walgreens for being the last remaining developer of film in my hometown! Here I’ll make room on the couch, just poured us some lemonade
As I stood alone at home in my kitchen
wailing down on my housemates ice-cream
I thought to myself …
if someone could see me right now I probably wouldn’t be doing this.
this being … shoving my face with food.
I admit, I’m a closet eater!
I’ve noticed this about myself for some time. There is usually an excuse attached like … I’m stressed, it’s Friday, I’ll just have one bite …
Most people consider me a healthy eater … which I am. But put me alone with a bag of chips or a box of cookies … game over.
Well, I’m tired of this game. So for the next 40 days I will be posting everything … yes, everything I eat on Instagram. My hopes is that the frightening knowledge of my online community having access to what I eat will keep me accountable to care for my body as I will not be able to sneak away and indulge. I totally understand if I lose followers, no doubt I will be that annoying person posting images of food, however rest assured … this project will only last 40 days, then I’ll be back to posting photos of my dog, painted toenails, children … oh wait …
Anyways, thanks friends for being there … out there in cyberspace as it might be.
I see the moon and the moon sees me.
God bless the moon and God bless … you.
My dear friends Nick & Ilah have officially launched their On-Site Barista Service, The Mill. I’m so tremendously proud of them. Last Saturday I brought my camera and documented my first Mill experience at the Sacramento Mid-Town Farmers Market. I was served the most divine latte with big smiles and big sunshine.
I love these two so much! Check out a sweet little interview with The Mill by SN&R just published today over here. Congrats again friends!
