Did you know that “crochet” is the French word for hook?!? Learning is fun, so are crocheted flower rugs. This rug came from a time when all I crocheted was flowers. As you can see some of those flowers made their way into this rug. View more rugs on my DIY page.
All credit goes to my sewing spirit sister Emily Peters who first planted the idea of making ones’ own underwear into my head, she even made me my first pair of handmade underwear (pictured on the left), which I used as the template for the pair I created (in process on the right). It’s a wonderfully basic three shape design. Both Emily’s here have used a spandex fabric, with an extra bridge cut out of soft cotton for the panty liner. Another suggestion is to simply pick out your favorite pair of underwear you have and use that for your template. I will add, these underwear have been excellent companions for spontaneous swimming and their a lot sexier then you might imagine. I would model a pair for you, but that would just be scandalous!
Packing up and heading out. With a new performing name for myself Emily?MLE, a stack of CD-Rs, guitars, speakers, mic, mixer, oatmeal, homemade gummy worms, mother’s dresses, clamps, cooler, duck tape, and a extension cord. SUMMER TOUR is about to launch. Stay tuned, and please keep checking my tour dates on myspace to see if I’m driving through your area. I would love to meet you and sing you a song.
A new world with yarn, weaving! With the help and inspiration from San Francisco artist Travis Meinolf I fix myself a mini-loom with a notecard and pencil. Here is a small sample of what I’ve done so far. Weaving is unraveling my naivety with many materials that surround me and cover my body. Check out all the beautiful projects that Travis is apart of and learn how to make your own mini-loom.
A new friend of mine is on a fast which includes lots of fresh juices. So in honor of him I asked my dad to pull out The Champion. My parents bought The Champion (world’s finest) juicer with money given to them at their wedding . . . over 30 years ago. Carrot juice to the wintery soul and to your health. nod.
my dear friend ilah was gifted a collection of stain glass supplies and kindly invited me over to play. Stain glass windows fascinated me as a child in the old church buildings I visited and today that fascination continues strong. So say so long to only building having fun, put on a pair of stain glass glasses and unlock a little wonder.
